"Today was interesting."

Sadat: great job today?
Sadat: great job today!

There is rehearsal on Thursday!

Sophmores, in Honors English, will not be here tomorrow.

What does the set look like? Can D and I get a copy of the layout?

Starting on Monday we run the hole thing!

Should someone "Craiglist" Bathroom stalls?

  1. Well, it's not a bathroom stall, but how about a nice whirlpool tub?

Speaking of which, anyone hear about this movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TXNEE6SaoI

It's one of those things that I wish we dreamed up! :)

My rehearsal tomorrow is going to be very interesting, with so few actors. However, I got lucky with who is missing, because those who need the most work on dancing will be there! I'll use the time to give them individualized attention. It should work out fine. The dance looked much better today in the chorus room than it did yesterday. I think the contained space really helped them make their movements precise, sharp, and clean. Hopefully it translates when we return to the blackbox.

  2. Today was pretty uneventful and everything went pretty smooth. Our actors were kind of slacking though, and they had very low and misdirected energy... Its hard to bring them off their high from break and back to the grindstone... I think we should raid hopewell tomorrow night for the bathroom stalls...

  3. We made progress today in the corridor. Mainly we worked on monologues and making our actoing more human as opposed to over rehersed. I think it went well for the most part. Adam needs work on his, but he does have the largest monologue so i gave him some space. I have emailed him though to study his lines on the trip tomorrow.

This field trip will hamper efforts tomorrow, but I think the best thing would be to work individually with each actor who is there on character development and how they should present themselves while not speaking.

One more thing. I also emailed Mr. Potorski about Thursday and what is going to happen. Dillon and I may need to be excused early from 8th to help set up because our time with the Girls soccer team will be vey limited. Thursday will be very busy for us, getting this done in one day will be a challenge just because setting up takes a while. Oh well: How hard can it be.

Hope all is going well with everyone else.

    From Charles

  6. today was an extremely productive day. the counter top for the snack bar was framed out, the flat for the air-duct escape is in the finishing and the bookcase finally got some shelves. were aiming to have most of the set loaded into the bb by the end of the week, and if we keep up the pace and quality of today's work, we should be able to get it done.

  7. i agree with xander in the energy level in the blackbox; it did seem a bit lethargic and "tired." maybe the combination of the rain and just off break. anyway, let's gets these actors moving in the right direction.

i was impressed with sadat's scene as we sat through it in its entirety sans dean. all kidding aside, sadat has his scene moving well in the right direction. a bit of a flame under will should make it even better.

overall you guys are doing well. i think mr m would agree that this show is way ahead of where we were last year at this time, not that we should be comparing the two however.

time is going to start flying by: show goes up 3 weeks from Friday, so let's keepp focused.

  8. So yeah today was another good and it seems as if all my actors are off book. The only one that is still struggling with lines is Will, but he is really making an effort. He really needs to start acting though, as Mr. D and Mr. Moore pointed out. Today I think was just a bit weak for him, because yesterday he seemed much stronger. Hopefully him watching a movie with someone I want him to be like will work.

  9. as pible said. today was extremely productive. every thing is looking good. every one was working hard today excepte one or tow exceptions of people but thats to be expected.

the quality of work has been good, no real problems. hopping to have the majority of stuff done asap, hopefully the fabrication will be done by the end of the week. load in will be a little more tricky because many set pieces have to be anchored to the wall.

and bathroom wise pible contacted a local distributor in the hopes of a rental or salvage. we will see. cross your fingers.

  10. hey i totally forgot about this puppY! i have to say from what i ssaw the other day i was truly impressed by how well all you guys are doing. There was a really nice balance of enjoying yourselves with really getting the kids to do good work. For the most part i thought peoples voices were great like very much in their charactter. I think alot of people were struggeling to know there lines and as a result would end up making somewhat awkward action like stuck in one place or very choppy movements but i'm sure itll come around when they are more comfortable wiith there lines!

  11. why did i cancel my post.....anyway the dance was really good yesterday for the first time. Thanks Lena! But the problem was that both Don and Stephanie did not memorize their lines well enough. They both tried to make up their lines by their own and it was not a good thing. Stephanie forgot many lines yesterday and I told them that we only have 2 rehearsals left for individual scene. I was not happy and told them to memorize well.
