Today was rather unproductive due to the absence of three members, but nevermind, things worked out. Filming seems to be preped, but we only have until 3:20 to get the interview with the girls soccer team done. We Mr. D you need to email Mr. Burns and Mr. Fanning to allow Dillon and I to get out of class at 2:30, that should be enough time to set up so that we can begin filming right after school. Dillon, do you want me to email and remind them to change into soccer clothes and be out by the turf at 2:50 or should you?
ReplyDeleteShirts: The decision about the Dari Lama is Lena and Austin's choice but what do you think about using the line: "Oh no, everyone writes about that… We’d better start thinking about a good lie." for the line on the back?
I have grown to really like all the actors in the Headmasters office. At first I was secptical of some of their levels of commitment, but all of them have come through and I am proud of them as a result. Hope everyone else has such a relationship.
From Charles
Tshirts will be ordered on Monday; so the design needs to be done by Sunday night! Get those totals and sizes done! We have the Dalai Lama pic from Charles and we have the confidentiality thing from Coleman. So, we just need to put it all together. As long as I order early next week we should be more than fine.
ReplyDeleteI would rather be able to fly.
ReplyDeleteMy interaction with my actors has not changed over time at all. As proven today in class. Middle Schoolers or Seniors? It's a tough call.
And I still ask Mr. Moore to go get me cookies in the Frau Forbissina voice.
So, it's proven that the bond between Houston and her actors will never alter, change, or be broken.
Scary, huh?
Sadat!? indeed. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the switch to Ebonics for "We getting nervous." Very nice.
I would much rather have the ability to fly. I don't really care for swimming, to be honest.
I now talk to my actors in song, for one. For example, the song today was "Why can't you all be like Nick?" (totally facetious, but also sincere.) Other than that, I think we all kind of have an understanding of what we need to do, how to do it, and realize that productive rehaersing is important. It's a mutual thing, I've gotten more efficient as a director - they're giving more effort as actors.
Houston - do you think our director-actor bond will change at all after we get married?
Ok
ReplyDeletesizes were done yesterday!!! yay
Design is charles' suggestion for quote and dali lama on the back Austin and i have yet to decide on the design for the front... i'll just force him to a descision during math.
Started on Leah's dress which was quite eventful and interesting.
Coleman- Erica and props need to do the flag... i don't know why they think I am but i'm not so that needs to be cleared
Don and Steph were really good today having remembered and entire dance sequence from yesterday (another yay) and they are working on not knowing eachother which is hard since they're dating but they're making good effort
Today was a bit stressy...crossing my fingers for the big present tomorrow (cross fingers and toes for it yall)
BIG REALIZATION...time doesn't stop for anyone not even for us so I'm gonna start U-HAULING everything...even if that means i will camp in the dressing room at some point in time.
Clothes are DUE FRIDAY APRIL 9TH PLEASE REMIND YOUR ACTORS i will also announce it at the beginning of rehearsal
ciao for now but i'll probably thing of something while i procrastinate on my academic life a bit...like every night since i was 4
oh crap i forgot to answer the numerous q's mr. moore put up...I'd fly cause free transportation, who wouldn't want that?
ReplyDeleteMy actors are improving today. They didn't memorize lines well enough and in the beginning today, but they were concentrate when I asked Coleman to come and see. Coleman I am sorry I know you are really busy but I just want you to see if there is anything I need to change or something. The dance were good, they just need to practice more I think. And I saw the snack bar counter today it looks nice! I will change the blocking a little bit once the counter is finished.
ReplyDeleteOf course I would want to have the ability to fly. I really want to fly back home and come back without taking the 18 hour airplane!!!! I think I am more close to my actors and they know more what I want them to do. But they kind of relax over time. I think it is because they think that I will not shout or really be angry at them.
I think that Mr. D's idea is really great. To let my actors actually work in the snack bar and have the experience of what it feels like.
ReplyDeleteOk, definetely fly.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to order shirts for Mr Moore, Ms Houston and I.
We will make an announcement before warmups about the costume deadline everyday until next Friday to drill it into their heads. The prom dress looks great by the way.
Xander - Coleman and Lena think the foing
mouth for the spend-a-day can be done. Let's see how it works out. Your scene looked good today. Amber is a facial expression genius and Hank/Jimmy are set up for some really big
laughs.
NO BINDERS FOR ACTORS AFTER TOMORROW! They should have been off book by now anyway.
Evonne/Coleman I think that Steph should do the snack bar by herself since her character is the one who works there and is disgruntled with it. Thoughts?
Charles/Dillon I will get that email out in the morning.
Keep up the good work! Show opens three weeks from tomorrow!!!!!
Well...today was another good but I got a little annoyed with Will today (Mr. Moore can tell you that) and I can also tell you that he actually might be getting closer to doing a good job when I told him to act like E from Entourage. I hope it doesn't back fire, but I'm sure things will work out. I've run through my damn scene so many times that I'm trying to think of games to keep my actors entertained. I also found out that Mr. Moore has a terrible taste in music (aka he thinks Sublime is great). Then again, I'm the only person who hates that band.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Sadat, I don't like them either...
ReplyDeleteI told my actors they HAVE too be off book, and a few of them have already done this, but I'll reiterate it again tommorrow... They have everything else down. I just need to explain comic timing to Hank and Jimmy again because I'm not sure they understand, or at least haven't perfected it yet. Besides that all is good with me... I heard that a bunch or sticks were falling on sadat's scene while they were outside? so weird...
ReplyDeletewhat a coincidence, i heard the same thing about the sticks. Anyway Mr. Moore you need to be more responsible I think i have drawn you a rough layout everyday this week. I would be able to breath under water. Since I can't add much about actors i'll comment on technicians (happy coleman). I think the semi-greenhorn/amateur crew, believes that they should be getting more advance work. But I have a hard time giving untrustworthy people tasks, when there asked to cut a piece of wood at 7' and it comes back like 6' 10". There are just days when it gets really annoying when a simple construction task requires 8 people and 10 minutes of talking in-between each minute of work. However, there are people who put in more than expected, and are eager/willing to learn.
ReplyDeleteWhat!? Breath under water!
ReplyDeletePibl-Now you know how Mr. Harding feels.
ReplyDeleteI like medium sized tshirts.
So does Mr. Harding.
Add us to the list. I bet Ms. Hall wants one, too. She's also a medium.
